Expectation
If you love me it must be a cruel joke
That causes our relationships and ties
For if, they condescend to simple lies
Make mockery of all I could call hope
And if you said those words, on them I'd choke
Now know how to take it, for the size
Of all the charm between us, it belies
The trust that such words never should be spoke
With all that I've built up on this foundation
That you do not, so that my dreams shan't shatter
It means I could not take such liberation
Of all the times I've said it does not matter
So I trust, and have no expectation
But dream I do, and dreams can live a-tatter
