The Ignoramous
An ignoramous crept to me
And bit off with one bite
Quite both my arms and too my ear,
To swallow, satisfied.
I gave a scream, and inwards ran
The great beast's ugly mate.
It ate my legs and then my toes,
That death should be my fate.
I went downwards into hell
Where demons and the devil dwell;
Condemned into a fiery pit
My torso burnt and smouldered.
Then God came down and he did say,
"Well, there's been some mistake."
So up to heaven rose my teeth,
Particularly late.
